I grew up in the 90's with a VHS tape with The Butter Battle on it and maybe a few other cartoons. The one I can't recall is quite vague in my memory unfortunately. It was a cartoon that aired in the UK around 2004, maybe earlier or later. I believe it was produced in North America, or at least dubbed there for English-speaking audiences. The twist at the end was that the cult was right all along about some kind of superstition and the main characters who thought they escaped die in a car accident.
